BOOKY'S CRUSH RERUN & FAN PROJECT UPDATE
shedding site updates icon
First off, a little TV media alert for Canadians. The CBC will re-air the latest Booky movie, Booky's Crush, on Valentine's Day at 8pm ET. Check your local listings to make sure you don't miss it. Big thanks to Landi for giving us the heads up!

In fan project news... well, it's done! All that's left is a successful delivery wink

We finished putting all your messages in the scrapbook and we'll be heading to Toronto next week to try and give it to Megan.

But we can now leave you with a glimpse of the final result. I've put pictures of some of the pages in the gallery, and not only that, but we also made a little video of us turning the pages of the entire thing so you can see for yourself what our 247 fan messages look like, all prettied up in the scrapbook.

I sincerely thank each and every one of you who participated.

When we first started spreading the word about this project, our big goal was to get at least 100 messages, and look at the number we ended up with. 247 thank you's to Megan from 32 different countries. Amazing.

Let us know what you think of the final scrapbook and make sure to check back here at the end of the week - or at the latest, at the beginning of the next - to see how our trip went.

YUP, THERE'S A CONSENSUS.
shedding megan updates icon
Anyone looking for a consensus? I've got one. The Cloud 9 cast puts the "stella" (pardon the Italian) in stellar!

More reviews are coming in about the production and it's all about how this cast has talent up the wazoo. "Stellar," "A-list," "flawless," "fantastic," and "top-notch" are all adjectives that have popped up in the reviews to describe the ensemble cast of Cloud 9. The Globe and Mail review said it best: "Need a reminder that Canada harbours many of the best stage actors on the planet? Go see Mirvish Productions revival of Caryl Churchill's Cloud Nine."

So, there you have it. If you are or were still on the fence about seeing the show, maybe reading these reviews will help you make up your mind.

I've added all the latest reviews on our Cloud 9 reviews page. Follow the link to read!

FIRST CLOUD 9 REVIEW IS IN: ★★★ out of 4
shedding megan updates icon
Following last night's official opening of Cloud 9, Toronto Star's Richard Ouzounian gives us our first review of the production today. The verdict? 3 stars out of 4.

The cast is unsurprisingly commended, each of their respective performances highlighted as laudable as the next: Evan Buliung is "triumphant," David Jansen is "perfect," Ben Carlson "triumphs," Blair Williams hits "just the right twisted sensuality," Ann-Marie MacDonald is "charm itself," Yanna McIntosh "anchors it all" and last but not least, Megan Follows "dazzles."

You can read the entire review on the Toronto Star website or right here on Shedding, in the Reviews section of our Press Archive.

And just so we're not swayed by this sole "official" review so far, how about a peek at the reactions from theatregoers themselves? The Twitterverse has been quietly a-buzzing about the play since it's started. Here's a sample:

To anyone who has seen the show already, a little reminder not to be shy to share your thoughts with everyone here who visits Shedding. You can do so by going to our Fan Report page.

ETA: A second review is in. John Coulbourn gives the play an impressive 4.5 stars out of 5! He begins his review by stating that the production "has moments that are truly golden," and concludes it saying that "[...] in the final appraisal, this is still a golden production – and, happily, beyond the footlights the difference between 10 carat and 18 carat rarely affects the sparkle. You can read the entire review HERE.

Keep an eye on our Cloud 9 page to read more reviews as they come in.

There is an interesting article in the National Post which features the entire cast talking about their characters and the play in general. You can read it online HERE.

A note to fans going to see the play
I'm sure many other Megan fans who don't have the chance to see it themselves would love to hear your comments about the production and the general experience of seeing her on stage. If you feel like it, I invite you to share your thoughts with everyone here at Shedding. You can use the fan report form right here on the site and I will add your report to our Cloud 9 page.

GALLERY UPDATE TO START THE NEW YEAR
shedding site updates icon
Hope everyone had great holidays smile

To kick off the new year, I've updated the gallery with new magazine scans and screencaps. You can now find in the photo gallery scans from the cover stories of the 1985, 1987 and 1996 TV Guides, as well as the 1984 TV Times article for Hockey Night. There are also scans of the 1987 Maclean's.

The 1987 TV Guide cover story is particularly interesting, as it features an article written by Megan herself, reflecting on the Anne movies just before the Sequel aired.

I've also added screencaps of the 1989 TV movie Champagne Charlie (in which Megan co-starred with none other than Hugh Grant), as well as screencaps from the latest Cloud 9 rehearsal videos.

Speaking of Cloud 9, the official site has added many updates, so make sure to check it out. The production also sends updates via Facebook and Twitter.

I'll end with a little reminder: the fan project submission deadline is a week from tomorrow, so if you haven't sent in your message yet, make sure you do it soon. So far, 140 fans from 25 countries have participated. Pretty good, right? Once the scrapbook is done, I will be posting pictures so that everyone who has participated can see the final result.

Big, big thank you for making the project so successful!

ETA: There was an error in my last update. The albums with the new photos were password locked, but they're now public. Go check them out!
