NON-MEGAN UPDATE ‒
'AOGG ACTORS: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?': SCHUYLER GRANT TODAY
shedding megan updates icon
This update is not Megan-related, but I came across a little video of Schuyler Grant recently and it reminded me that a few people have been asking where she's been and how she's doing, so I thought I'd share the vid and give a Schuyler update at the same time.

Schuyler's a successful yoga teacher now and works in New York. She is the founder and director of the Kula Yoga Project and was named in a New York Times article last year as one of New York's favorite yoga teachers and go-to person for people looking for advanced classes.

The video below is from just this past summer. In it, she talks about the Wanderlust Festival (co-founded by her husband) which took place last summer and for which she was part of the yogi lineup.

Incredible to realize how time has just flown by. So glad to see she's doing so well smile

FAN PROJECT UPDATE & NEW AFFILIATE
shedding site updates icon
Hello dear fans,

I just wanted to update you on an important addition to our fan project. Since the period of our project will coincide more or less with the generous spirit of holidays, I thought we'd try and raise money for charity as another way to say thank you to Megan.

As many of you perhaps already know, Megan has been involved for years with World Vision Canada. She also went to Cambodia with her friend and director Heather E. Connell who wrote and directed Small Voices: The Stories of Cambodia Children, a documentary following children in their struggle out of poverty and illiteracy. The movie supports not-for-profit organizations such as The Cambodian Children's Fund and Barefoot Workshops.

I have set up a donation page through Paypal that fans can use to make a secure donation. (See my ETA below) I realize now may not be the best time to ask for a donation, but even the smallest of amounts can add up to a great final donation.

The project is actually going really well, which is why I thought of the extra charity donation in first place. We are one submission away from having received the lovely number of 50 entries! So far, 49 fans from 12 different countries have participated. See for yourself the list of fans by clicking HERE. I'd say it's not too shabby of a start for a project that began about 3 weeks ago. That being said, keep spreading the word about the project! There are still about two months left to submit something.

Finally, I've added Shelly's wonderful site, Shelly's Avonlea, as one of our affiliates. Thanks for all the support smile

I hope everyone has a great week!

Important edit: I have taken down the donation page through Paypal when I realized that Paypal charges a small fee off the donation amount when we use the Donation link. The best way to gather donations then is for you to use your own Paypal account (if you have one) to donate to the site's email address, shedding.meganfollows@gmail.com, or set up a Paypal account (which is free) when you make your donation.

Using the donation link was easier but it seems ridiculous to me that Paypal would take a fee, even if it is small, off your donation to charity. Thanks for understanding, everyone.

'TOP GIRLS' DOCUMENTARY & VIDEO ARCHIVE RE-OPENED
shedding megan updates icon
Programming information for Nightwood Theatre's Directors Summit reveals that filmmaker Cassandra Nicolaou is working on a behind-the-scenes film about Soulpepper's 2008 remount of its 2007 successful production of Caryl Churchill's Top Girls.

According to Nightwood Theatre's website, the Directors Summit is "a gathering of theatre professionals from across Canada and around the world to connect and exchange ideas on the art of interpretation." As part of the scheduled panels, a sneak peak of this film will be screened, followed by a talkback with Nicolaou and Top Girls director, Alisa Palmer. The full details of the event can be found in the full story below.

In Shedding news, I've managed to reopen part of the Video Archive section of the site, which was lost in our latest crash. Enjoy!

SHORTER RUN FOR CLOUD 9 + TICKETS NOW ON SALE
shedding megan updates icon
Megan's upcoming play Cloud 9 was originally slated to run at Toronto's Panasonic theatre until February 28, 2010, but the last week of performances was cut. The play is now scheduled to run until Feb. 21.

Speaking of the play, tickets are now on sale! They're available at Mirvish's box office, or by phone (416.872.1212 or toll-free at 1.800.461.3333), or even easier, through their online ticketing service HERE.

I know some of you made the trip to Toronto last year to see Megan in Soulpepper's 'Night, Mother and Top Girls and judging from your feedback, none of you regretted it smile I encourage anyone who can make the trip to Toronto to get tickets and go see it! There's a definite consensus that seeing Megan on stage is a treat for any fan. The cast of Cloud 9 is stellar (Ann-Marie MacDonald! Yanna Macintosh! Shawn Doyle!) and Megan reunites once again with her Top Girls/'Night, Mother director, Alisa Palmer.

If you should need any information regarding the play or details for your trip, don't hesitate to contact me and I'd be glad to try and help out.

NEW LAYOUT! (v.02)
shedding site updates icon
Hey everyone,

welcome to version 0.2 of Shedding!

To support the site's current 'thank you, megan' fan project, I thought a little redesign would be most welcome. What do you all think?

The project is still going strong, but don't be shy to continue spreading the word about it. In order for it to be successful, we need all fans to participate! wink

'THANK YOU' FAN PROJECT UPDATE
shedding site updates icon
Hey guys,

I've added information pages for the fan project in French and Spanish in the hope that it'll bring even more fans to the project.

I have also added an updated list of all the people who have already sent in something HERE. So far, it's going great, but you all still have about 3 months left so I don't expect everyone to submit something right now. Please continue to spread the word about this project so that it can be a successful one.

I'll keep updating the list of submissions, so check back to see how the project is going smile

SHEDDING 2010 THANK YOU PROJECT
shedding site updates icon

Hello Megan fans,

in exactly three months, Megan will be in Toronto, starring in the Mirvish production of Cloud 9. This will mark yet another stage production in Megan's resume, the 7th in the past 6 years alone, an indication, among many, that Megan's career is still thriving after more than 30 years since her professional acting debut in that Bell commercial.

2010 will also mark the 25th anniversary of the original 1985 CBC broadcast of Anne of Green Gables, a seminal moment in Megan's career. I thought it would thus be a great timing for a big, international fan thank you project.

Shedding keeps on receiving such great messages from fans who still cherish her Anne role and all of the other roles she has brought to life. Why not send those messages directly to Megan? Ever had anything you wanted to thank Megan for? Now's your chance! Shedding plans on collecting fan messages/letters, putting them into a letterbook/scrapbook and giving it to Megan in person in February 2010.

I'm sending the call for submissions right now to allow as many fans as possible the chance to send something and enough time to do it in.

Check out the 2010 THANK YOU FAN PROJECT for all the information.

In the next 11 weeks or so, I hope to be submerged by fan submissions! laughing

So, spread the word and send in those messages!
