»  Why a Megan Follows fansite? (the long version for the bored and/or truly curious ones)

This is actually my third attempt at maintaining a Megan Follows website. Let's rewind back to the summer of 1999, shall we? My very first website – badly, badly constructed on the free Geocities server way back when – is a Megan Follows one, horribly named Megan Follows Forever (you gotta admire the aim for eternal dedication though) to go along with the Yahoo Group I have just opened as well. After about a year, the Geocities server crashes and the whole thing disappears. Frustration ensues, but I get swept up with high school reaching its end, and studies prevail.

A few of months later, I meet a fellow Megan fan online and I offer to help her out with her brand new website called Follow Megan Online (title improvement!). She accepts. We have an incredible amount of fun for about two years, before life gets incredibly busy again, and we both realize we can't keep up with the site because there are exams to stress over and educations to get. The site dies as well.

Fast forward to the summer of 2007. My admiration for Megan is renewed as I get the chance to see her perform on stage for a second time (six years after the first time!). For some reason, I come to the conclusion that trying to complete my degree with a modicum of sanity is not enough of a challenge and thus decide to build yet another Megan fansite with the permission of my kick-ass host, Amy. Voilà Shedding.

She was freakin' Anne of Green Gables.

»  Why Shedding?

As the previous story demonstrates, I suck at titles. While randomly looking for Megan articles and interviews, I came across Megan's testimony for CBC's This I Believe series and the title came naturally from it.

"I believe in seeing the world through others’ eyes. That must be why I am an actress. I love shedding who I am, freeing myself from the limitations of my specific story and inhabiting someone else’s life."

She loves shedding who she is and she does an amazing job at doing it for every single role she takes on. The title is simply a tribute to her incredible talent.

Shedding, part of the cursed hyphen éphémère collective.   «
