» SYNOPSIS (from mirvish.com) "We are not in this country to enjoy ourselves!" Indeed we are not... not in the colonial Africa of Victoria's time when the natives were restless, the weather was stifling, the men were manly and women, submissive...but that's just Act I! Act II zooms us 100 years in time-to Margaret Thatcher's England-where the same characters, miraculously, are still with us and still fighting the same battles. British playwright Caryl Churchill won an Obie Award when her hilarious, outrageous, thought-provoking, poignant satire about relationships, sex, work, mothers, Africa, power, politics and money first played off-Broadway in 1981. Two decades later, the wild romp that is Cloud 9 is as funny and as relevant as ever! » INFORMATION

"Need a reminder that Canada harbours many of the best stage actors on the planet? Go see Mirvish Productions revival of Caryl Churchill's Cloud Nine. It's a parade of pleasurable performances, with some of the greatest thesps from Ontario theatre's sensational Triple S – Stratford, Shaw and Soulpepper – playing, and playing around, in roles you'd never expect. . . ." J. Kelly Nestruck, The Globe and Mail
"The show is a feast of exquisite acting as one might expect from the likes of Buliung, MacDonald, Ben Carlson, Megan Follows, David Jansen, Yanna McIntosh and Blair Williams, all of whom shine in their dual or triple roles." Christopher Hoile, Eye Weekly

"It's the cast that helps keep things on track here and a better cast could hardly be imagined [...] Megan Follows has a few moments to shine as the governess Ellen trying unsuccessfully to repress her lesbian urges, only to emerge in the second half with a well rounded portrayal of the out and proud dyke Lin."
Mark Andrew Lawrence, BroadwayWorld.com
"Head to the Panasonic to see some of the city's best players, skilfully directed by Alisa Palmer [...] Follows is particularly skilful (my date didn't even realize she was playing two roles) . . ."
Susan G. Cole, Now Magazine
» SHEDDING FAN REPORT Coming soon! » FAN REPORTS Glenn J.: "A thought provoking and hilarious romp with some amazing acting. To miss this gem would be a crime. Megan Follows is excellent as always. Her everlasting charm is present with the same devliish twinkle that we all love. Megan does not miss a beat while playing three different parts and does so perfectly. Sadly I did not get a chance to talk with her again though. It would have been nice after more than 22 years since we first met. The entire cast pulls this off w/o any doubts and does it with style, grace and an distinctly blunt humor that is priceless. If you have an open mind you would be foolish to miss this one... and if you don't maybe it will help open your eyes. :)" (Jan. 29, 2010 performance) Want to add your own fan report? Please do so!
